Homemade Hipster Breakfast
Call me basic but I still love this trendy toast. As much as I love sweets, this savory combo makes it hard to resist. It’s easy, cheap and satisfying.
Complex carb, healthy fats and protein all on one slice of heaven. Relax on a Sunday and have your self some fancy toast and a french press. Probably the easiest recipe that you will ever come across, and the most Instagram worthy!
Eggs: It’s a never ending debate however I love eggs as a protein source! One egg has only 75 calories, 7 grams of high-quality protein, 5 grams of fat, along with iron, vitamins, minerals, and carotenoids. I’ll take it.
Avocado: One-third of a medium avocado has about 80 calories and contributes nearly 20 vitamins and minerals, making it a great nutrient dense food choice. The avocado is virtually the only fruit, yes I said fruit, that contains heart-healthy monounsaturated fat (the good kind)! Avocados are naturally sodium, sugar and cholesterol free. Mash them in a bowl and put the leftover avocado in a avocado saver. Amazing invention!
Whole Grain Toast: I personally like Dave’s Killer Bread thin sliced. The whole food ingredients including nuts, seeds and oats makes it an excellent grain option!

Avocado Egg Toast
- 2 Scrambled Eggs
- 2 Tbsp Diced Onion
- 2 Tbsp Diced Peppers
- 4 Cherry Tomatoes
- 1/2 Small Avocado
- 1 Slice Whole Grain Bread or toast of choice
- 1 Sprinkle Red Pepper Flakes
- Mix eggs with diced veggies in small bowl and scramble on medium heat.
- Mash avocado in small bowl.
- Toast bread.
- Layer mashed avocado on bread and top with scrambled eggs and diced cherry tomatoes. Sprinkle red pepper flakes on top.
