Steak and Veggie Macro Bowl

Nothing fancy here, guys! You should have most of these ingredients on hand. Grab some lean steaks, Italian dressing, your favorite veggies, olive oil and some spices. Simple as that.

Having lean red meat in your diet can be a great protein option. I know most men reading this are probably like, YES. FINALLY! Chill, this still doesn’t mean 16oz steaks are an appropriate serving size.

Red meat is packed with iron (helps with transportation of oxygen to various parts of the body), and zinc which can support healthy bone growth, teeth, skin, liver and your immune system. Other nutrients that can be found in red meat include vitamins D and K, chromium, copper, folic acid, magnesium, potassium, selenium and n-3 fatty acids.

My top lean choices are elk, deer and moose, but I realize wild game isn’t for everyone so lean beef, pork and lamb are other good sources!

This recipe can be a makeshift dinner when you get home late or are too tired to do much cooking. Having staples on hand like fresh or frozen meat and veggies along with olive oil, soy sauce and spices makes it easy to throw it all together.

  1. In a glass pan with lid, lay steaks out flat and marinate overnight in Italian dressing.
  2. Preheat the grill to 300F, cook evenly on each side for 5-10 minutes until desired doneness. Season as desired with steak seasoning.

  1. Dice peppers, scallions and chop broccoli (I buy the riced cauliflower in the frozen section to save time).
  2. Add olive oil to large pan. Turn stove on to medium-high heat, adding all veggies into pan.
